Black Saturday

About an year and a quarter back, I was flooded with calls from family, friends and the like just to make sure that i was alive.

It was the day which came to labelled as Black monday, when four blasts rocked mumbai killing many and injuring a lot more.

It happened all over again last saturday.Similar blasts, similar calls and a similar sight of blood and gore on television screens.

Somehow i cant get myself to bay for the blood of those behind the blasts simply because like for all of us even their hatred is a product of conditioning. only to a varying measure.

In a conflict where we don't know whom to trust, and whom not to.Those dead might just be reduced to numbers to be used in the game of political outwitting.

Well Keerthi, This kind of hatred stems from the process of 'othering' which in turn stems from conditioning. When you come to think of it even our notions morality to a large extent stem from conditioning. For instance even our belief that killing people is wrong in a way stems from conditioning.(killing was more acceptable in stone ages than now).We have all been conditioned in different ways and othering is more prominent in people who grew up in societies where hating 'the other' and death are glorified.it is precisely this conditioning which propels people to perform 'such acts'.

Glad to know you are fine.
Yes it is the conditioning, the mind trapped between the opposites.

Its important, terribly important to keep our fundamentals straight. There is a lot of things we can blame on conditioning, but we dont, we simply don't kill innocent people.

Thats basic. Thats incontrovertible and un arguable.
